In the past weeks, we've been busy working on Short URLs, allowing you to set them up directly from the platform and generate multiple at once. Additionally, we've improved the authentication method in Google Cloud Storage connectors by adding a service account alternative.
Overview
New features:
- [Accutics Standardize] Setting up Short URL
- [Accutics Standardize] Bulk generating Short URLs
- [Accutics Standardize] Custom Views of the Records table

Setting up Short URL
Short URL is an add-on feature within Accutics that helps you to shorten URLs, improving their readability and brand consistency. Short URLs can also be used in synergy with QR codes.
When previously requiring our assistance, you can now set up Short URLs directly from the UI. This process involves 2 steps: creating a custom domain to use for Short URLs, and then configuring them from the Output fields configuration.
Step 1: Create a custom domain
Short URL domains can be created from the Account settings and used across all its projects.
This involves specifying a subdomain, adding CNAME records to your DNS provider, and validating the domain setup within Accutics.
Step 2: Configure URL outputs
URL outputs now have a new 'Short URL' tab. From here, you can enable Short URL and configure it using the domain you created.
Once completed, you'll be able to generate short URLs for campaign links, tracking codes, and any other URL output you configured in Accutics.

Bulk generating Short URLs
Along with the configuration of Short URLs, we also introduced the ability to generate short URLs for multiple records at once.
Here's how:
- Select records
From the Records table, select multiple records > Click 'Short URL' from the buttons that appear at the top of the table - Configure Short URLs
A modal will appear where you can select the domain for the Short URLs. If the record contains multiple Outputs you can generate short URLs for, you'll need to choose one.
- Generate
When generating in bulk, existing Short URLs will not be affected. You'll see the number of short URLs created for the records selected as an indication.
Note: Paths are auto-generated when generating in bulk. Custom paths are available only when generating Short URLs individually.
You'll find the newly generated Short URLs on the right of the corresponding URL output.
Custom Views of the Records table
Views are custom configurations of the Records table that can be saved for an easy overview of specific records and to collaborate with other users. Specifically, Views allow you to save frequently applied filters and column selection.
All users can create, pin, and share personal Views, while manager and admin roles can also create and manage project-wide ones.

Authenticating to Google Could Storage using a service account
The Google Cloud Storage (GSC) connector now supports authentication via service accounts. This provides a reliable alternative to OAuth for setting up data transfers to your GCS buckets and eliminates the need for user access permissions.
Here's how it works:
- Enable authentication with a service account
From the GCS connector setup, check the service account authentication checkbox.
This replaces OAuth sign-in with an option to upload a service account key file. - Upload key file and enter the bucket name
Upload the key file and enter the exact bucket name where the data should be exported. - Validate the connection
Click 'Validate' to check to ensure the connection can be established successfully.
Finally, we recommend that you run the connector to verify that the export file is securely transferred to the designed GCS bucket.
