This article explains how you can test the outputs generated with the saved configuration before publishing in the Test Area. This is to ensure that the configuration can be built and tested in safe a environment.

Once you have set up the Input and Outputs of your project it is possible to test that the project is configured correctly to give the desired outputs before Publishing the updates to the live environment. The updated configuration must be saved as a draft before it can be tested.

Note: This is only available to Project Managers and admins

How to access the Test area for your configuration

In the Settings area of the project, navigate to the Input or Output options.

Settings -> Configuration -> Input or Output fields

Once in either the Input and Output field areas, you will now see the icon for the Test area on the left hand sidebar.

Testing your configuration

Once you are in the test area, you will see all possible options available to you as a user, which will include User attributes if they are in use.

Note: If user attributes are not in use, that will not appear in your test area

To test the configuration, simply go through the form and add the data as you would if you were creating a live record. Once all mandatory options are filled out you will then be able to generate and test the output.

If the structure of the output is correct, then your changes should be ready to publish.
